The annual Habitat for Humanity Mercer County Benefit Dinner was held the evening of August 25, 2014 at 5:30 P.M. The event took place at the Salvisa Baptist Church Christian Life Center. The dinner was a highlight in Mercer County. In addition to a delicious southern style meal, donated by the Family Affair Restaurant and Catering (5509 Louisville Road, Salvisa), the attendees were treated to an inspiring musical performance donated by the Patriots Quartet.In addition to the dinner and concert, silent and live auction were held from items donated by local businesses, industries, and individuals.  A UK basketball signed by John Calipari, a UL Basketball signed by Rick Petino, a golf club and US Open flag signed and donated by Josh Teator, UK basketball tickets, two vacations (Florida and North Carolina), a handmade quilt donated by Vivian Gambill, and a  32-inchTV were among the live auction items sold.

Seven people were honored in an Honors and Awards Ceremony.  They included Dr. Robert DeFoor, Dr. Bonnie Tanner, Wayne Mayes, Dannie Goodpaster, Allen White, Greg Caudill, and Allen Goldie.  In addition, Family Affair and Catering and the Harrodsburg Christian Church were honored for their many years of partnership and support for Habitat for Humanity Mercer County.

We are pleased to announce that nearly 35o tickets were sold and more than $11,000 was made by the event.
